Meet Us

Dr. Melissa Vettraino Bachstein was born in Canada but grew up in Italy for most of her childhood.  While completing her Bachelor degree in Chemistry with Honors at the University of Windsor, she authored several refereed publications and was the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships. She then earned her D.D.S. from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2007 and completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Medical Center in Detroit in 2008. Dr. Vettraino Bachstein went on to complete her specialty training in Endodontics at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia in 2010 with an award from the American Association of Endodontists for the presentation of her research project.

Dr. Vettraino Bachstein is involved in academia by serving as a clinical instructor in the Endodontics Department at Albert Einstein Medical Center. She is also an active member of the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, Alpha Omega, and the Grossman Study Club.  She is currently the President for the Albert Einstein Endodontic Alumni Society.

Dr. Vettraino Bachstein is fluent in Italian.

Dr. Minje Kim was born in Korea and raised in Florida. She ventured to Atlanta for her undergraduate studies, completing a Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Emory University. She then moved to Philadelphia to attend the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Doctorate in Dental Medicine in 2017 with Honors in Community Health. Early on in her dental training, Dr. Kim found her passion in Endodontics and knew she wanted to dedicate her career to providing the best quality and comfort for her patients.

Dr. Kim completed her advanced training in Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. During her time there, she provided hands-on training in microsurgical techniques to visiting endodontists and residents from around the world. Her education and clinical experience have led her to develop a unique treatment philosophy that is not only of technical excellence but one that patients can find comfort in. 

When Dr. Kim is not busy taking care of patients, she can be found running along the Schuylkill River, exploring new restaurants or traveling/spending time with friends and family. She is excited for the opportunity to deliver pleasant and personalized dental experience to patients and families at Excel Endodontics.

Dr. Kim is an active member of the American Association of Endodontics (AAE) and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Kim is fluent in Korean.
